The Big Four Live In A Theater Near You

The Big Four’s European tour is coming to theaters worldwide. Not sure how watching Metallica and Slayer in a movie theater will compare in person besides that either way you will be sitting near smelly dudes drinking heavily. Tickets are $20 and most of each bands set will be shown.

Here’s a listing of the screenings happening in the New York City / New Jersey Area

Bands included are Deftones, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Converge, Guns and Roses, Cattle Decapitation, Mastodon, Napalm Death and more. Artist interviews include Wes Benscoter, Paul Romano, Arik Roper, Ed Repka and more.

Volcom Vinyl Club 2010 To Include Dave Lombardo, The Sword, The Bronx

Volcom has announced some artists for their 2010 vinyl club including The Sword, Year Long Disaster, The Bronx, El Bronx, Baron, Growlers, and Dave Lombardo of Slayer. I am hoping its just a 10 minute drum solo from Mr. Lombardo. You can drop 40 bucks to get a year of 7 inches at this link.

Album Review: Children Of Bodom – Skeletons in the Closet

childrenofbodom_skeletonsSkeletons in the Closet is the first  cover album by Finnish  metal band Children of Bodom. Most of the tunes in the album have already been released, including the infamous Britney cover from their 2005′s Are You Dead Yet?. In fact, out of it’s 17 songs, only four are actually unreleased: Hell Is For Children, Antisocial, War Inside My Head, and Waiting.

As far as the song choices go, they cover a great territory of the music realm. Some are pretty obvious, since they’re a metal band (Sepultura, King Diamond, Iron Maiden, Slayer), others could be chalked up as the band’s wide array of influences (Scorpions, Ramones, W.A.S.P.) while others seem to be very tongue in cheek, at least at first glance (Pat Benatar, Kenny RogersBilly Idol and of course, Britney Spears).

Album Art Spotlight: Slayer – World Painted Blood

World-Painted-Blood-Slayer

Slayer have revealed the cover artwork for World Painted Blood, which is actually four different covers put together to make a map of the earth… wait for it… painted in blood! That’s not all the land masses on the map are made up of human skeletons. A deluxe CD/DVD version and 180 gram vinyl will also be available. I suppose you “Gotta Catch ‘em all!”
